Ever since I started watching Glee, I'm all about new directions.

& last week I got reminded of this;

Luke 5:37,38 No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.

Well, I'm stepping out in faith to a new blogspot to venture into some of the things that I really wanna do (fashion stuff and some of my pictures/videos) but never quite had the guts.

It's been awhile since I blogged.

It's been 3 days since I was last in the cyber world!

Here's a quick diary thing on how I passed my time without the good ol' internet.

Day 1:

I actually feel pretty lost on the first day.

Oh no I'm an addict I can't do without my daily fix on online blogs and shops and facebook and hotmail and google.

Jia lat man, if the world comes to an end, food will be one of the last things on people minds. Which will be good because I get to hog the food muahaha

But just think, if the world did come to an end soon, what will be the one thing that you can't do without?

Your blackberry, your mobile phone, your laptop or your mascara?

One thing in common: they need internet connection/wire signals and I have a hunch that when the world is going to the dogs, there will not be such signals for us to connect to. (I just realized mascara don't need any signals but haha it's all I can think of now even if I don't use a mascara)

So basically our phones are left with the snakes II game and our laptops will be left with the photobooth function. (it actually sounds fun. you can turn on photobooth on reflection mode and so it's like there's 2 people and you're playing snakes II with someone else when it actual fact it's just you alone hiding in a dark cave)

Hm okay maybe I'll give glee a second watch since I have it in my laptop.

Day 2:

Uh-oh I might become a potential glee addict cors after watching the first few episodes I actually realized it's not as boring or normal as I thought it was!

Okay lesson learnt; never judge a book on it's cover, never judge a show by its first episode. Got it.

So lalala, I survived pretty well. But I can't help thinking about facebook, hotmail and the shoe spree. I want new shoes.

Day 3:

Went for dinner with my family for the first time in a long time.

Last few dinners I didn't go with them cors I was tired. What an excuse I just wanted to use my laptop all night long. Guilty as charged. So anyway I had a gr8 dinner with them and okay I shall not skip family dinners for the internet ever again!

Eating sushi and tea with my funny family beats going on fashion toast or drooling over black wedges.

Day 4:

I'm in the office now where the internet is quite reliable and hi doreen, I like your pretty hearts jacket!

So after 3 days of not going online, the first tabs I opened today were what else- facebook hotmail and shoe spree lol

Seeing all the updates, it's like the world went on without me.

But no matter cors I'm back!

I think Imma go watch some youtube now.

dreams are funny little things aren't they?

no i'm not talking about the dreams vision goal kinda dream.

i'm talking 'bout errbody getting crunk crunk-

(okay i should stop associating all my sentences to 'tik tok' lol)

i'm talking about dreams you get during your sleep, where your body shuts down and your mind is like an engine charging and revving and testing the road for the next day ahead.

i wonder if the totally random dreams do link to what you might have been thinking of but you were totally unaware of!

i've been having crazy dreams like alien cats attacking me and then me being chased by a monster and me flying off escalators and overhead bridges for my safety

does this mean that somewhere through out my day,

my mind has subconsciously thought of pehaps alien cats or monsters or superhuman powers?

or maybe dreams are just random.

i don't think i think about alien cats or overhaed bridges or escalators when i'm awake...

I was reading somewhere that every girl should have a self-defense plan in mind,

so that if the need ever arises we won't be caught off-guard and victimized.

I stopped what I was doing at that time (watching tap dance vids on youtube) to get my plan ready.

I'm not gonna tell you what my self-defense plans are because it is top secret stuff and it might be dangerous if this gets into the wrong hands but I will have you know that it obviously involves a punch to the nose then an elbow to the neck then maybe if I can, a kick to the nuts and then a tap dance to celebrate and then another kick to the shins and then tap dance my way out of danger because the poor dude will be lying on the floor in agony by the time I tap-tap-tap my jazzy feet to the police station.

I need to learn tap dance first, of course. But that's one minor major detail *waves it off

So you see why I need to keep my fighting plan top-secret.

Everyone has a blog these days. Some use it to inspire people while some others write about their personal lives and for some others it's a little of both combined. Makes me wonder what my blog is for. I mean I wanted to keep it personal with updates of myself and the people around me and the pictures or quotes that inspires me. Write about my day or write about the latest fashion happenings in new york fashion week without having people think I'm trying too hard. But no matter how personal I want it to be, it is still out on the net and the net is a public place. Anyone can read it and judge it. I can't write good articles as much as I like and the photos aren't as good either. And I realize I like keeping things fairly private so it's for only the people I know e.g school and church friends. Which explains the people on facebook I have yet to accept as friends simply because I have never seen their faces before or we do not have enough mutual friends. I used to like it though, receiving messages from total weird strangers that made me feel special and 'loved'. But not anymore. I understand my self-worth, I'm loving myself more. Guarding the good things in, keep the bad out :) And this has no link to what I've just typed but I have been getting inspired a lot and ideas I have been getting. I shall post them up on my blog after I'm done with them! Mainly videos and picture stuff but we'll see where it takes me to. I'm excited after typing that line out, oh, if you could only see my face now but you can't- that's the internet for you.

I bought shoes for a child who really needs them!
Well, okay, I didn't exactly do that
but I did buy Soule FlipFlops and when you buy one from them, they give a pair of shoes to kids without shoes in china.
And my slippers are just $15.90 O_o
Just that little bit of money and you make a difference in a child's life.

Shoes are soo important (you have no idea how much I value shoes) and to think there are people out there who cannot afford to buy themselves shoes. Iamgine what their feet go through; mud, sharp grass, coarse sand, rubbish, glass- even just walking on concrete floor on a scortching sunny day and your feet will burn and blister. But then again, how can I help right? I'm just a 19 year old studying in sheltered singapore getting money here and there from parents and babyware. But now I get the chance to improve a kid's life! Spending $15.90 was never so worth it.
And this is just their first item they're selling. (only 300 pairs of slippers available: LIMITED EDITION and I have it muahaha)
I can't wait for when they actually sell the shoes!

& I know it's not easy for Jingying, justine and john as they are still students too but what they're doing is life-changing and you should see their dedication to the needy children in china. Plenty of sleepless nights they had just to make Selfless Shoes possible.

One of my resolutions for 2010 is to spend more time with my family.
I really miss my family a lot because I haven't been home much to spend good quality time with 'em.

That always happens to me -.- I think I unconsciously multi-task, if there is such a thing.

Recently my mental clock has been switching off at 12 midnight and I get so tired that I HAVE to sleep by 12 or else I'll crash on the sofa or while I'm brushing my teeth halfway. I'm getting more sleep by sleeping at midnight but I'm not complaining, if fact I love sleeping early I could get used to this. (I might suffer in WOW camp though if I shut down by 12am :X)

Interesting Incident

Was working in babyware and so this chatty swedish lady and I got talking about baby products and all. Amazing how I can hold a conversation about baby products now.

Where was I? Oh yes, baby talk.

So our conversation went like this after she was telling me about her obedient and respectful little boy.

Me: Wow I wish my boy will be like that *thinking of the future*

Lady: *thinking of the 'now'* OH you have a boy huh? Sorry I couldn't tell butwellyouknowinthisagehahaha- how old are you, dear?

Me: Oh no no I'm 18 and I don't--

Lady: 18! Goodness you have a head start. So how old's your husband?

Just my two cents worth,

I was thinking that now the food I eat tastes so bland and how am I gonna get the strength to get well if I keep skipping my meal due to poor appetite and therefore I conclude-

When you are sick, is the time when you should eat tasty and yummy food so that you can eat irregardless if your taste buds are hibernating or fighting wars with thousands of germs now and you will surely gobble up the food and food = energy = strength = fight off sickness = recover faster!

I think if I'm sick and I eat hospital food daily I would remain sick because I will have to force myself to eat and will not be happy and if I'm not happy then where will my will power to fight the sickness come from?

So I think that when you're sick you should be at your happiest and not being miserable in a cold dark danky room crying.

'cause being in sch even when I'm sick and seeing my friends being so concerned and nice to me = makes me happy = makes me feel better = recover faster!

Recipe:

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 king-sized milk chocolate bars (e.g. Hershey’s)
1 1/2 cups marshmallow creme/fluff (not melted marshmallows)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light. Beat in egg and vanilla. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt. Add to butter mixture and mix at a low speed until combined. Divide dough in half and press half of dough into an even layer on the bottom of the prepared pan. Place chocolate bars over dough. 2 king-sized Hershey’s bars should fit perfectly side by side, but break the chocolate (if necessary) to get it to fit in a single layer no more than 1/4 inch thick. Spread chocolate with marshmallow creme or fluff. Place remaining dough in a single layer on top of the fluff (most easily achieved by flattening the dough into small shingles and laying them together). Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until lightly browned. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

Makes 16 cookie bars.

Regarding studies, I couldn't really focus on stuff cors I was distracted. Like during the moment I may have a lot of things going on in my head. I got them out by talking them out or just not thinking about things. Maybe you currently have a lot of things on your mind. Clear those things then remembering things will be easier :)

- Today, I heard that Mountain Dew lowers your sperm count. I freaked out because I drink a lot of it, and I want kids. Then I remembered that I'm a girl. MLIA.

- Today, it's my time of the month. I was craving something sweet. I was searching through my backpack and found a box of Dots with a note from my boyfriend saying "Please don't hurt me today. I love you." I realize why I love him so much. MLIA

- Today, I got into a fight at school, and my principal called my dad. When he arrived, she told him that I got into a fight. The first thing he said was 'Who won?!'. this year was definitely the most exciting time of my life....

but just wait til next year!

Because I'm sucha straight and goody-two shoes I just HAD to wait til I'm properly legal to go into clubs, I can finally say I'm ready and I'm curious to see what it's all about because people either love it or h8 it. I think my parents are okay with that, surprisingly. I love you mum, dad!

I like the feeling that I get, just b4 I get out from bed in the morning.

So I'm still semi-sleeping, and my eyes are still closed even though my brains have been switched on. I can see the sunlight through my closed lids.

I like the feeling that just before opening my eyes-

Anything can happen. All the possibilities of the day.

Who I'll meet, who I'll talk to, what I'll see. I can still dream..

Maybe I'll meet a special friend for lunch, maybe I'll bump into Sun, maybe I'll get talent spotted and be flown off to hollywood, maybe I'll meet the guy of my dreams, maybe I'll save a life.. maybe, just maybe.

Then I open my eyes and take a deep breath and live the dream.

See, anything can happen.

You'll never know, that's the beauty of it.

Even though I've only known you girls for like 1 and a half years, it feels like we've been through more things together and we've come a long way huh? From the day we stepped into the lecture hall on orientation day to now.. How much we've grown :)

I walk according to the beat of whatever song I'm listening to at that moment.
My footsteps go with the music..
Like if I'm listening to 'butterfly fly away' by miley, I walk slower and my strides are big.
If I'm listening to.. let's say, 'fashion' by lady gaga, my steps are fast and my strides are small.
Sometimes if you see me walking fast and I have my earphones out, that means I'm listening to an extremely catchy song then.
Who knew looking at the way a person walks could determine the music he/she was listening to!
Or... maybe it's just me.

So anyway today I was walking down a flight of stairs and the music blasting into my ears was some electric guitar solo.
Omg I almost tripped my way down the stairs lol
